ABOUT EMILY

Emily is deeply inspired by the intricacies and beauty of nature, something she infuses within her art. Through her innate love for creativity and expression, Em Victoria Photography was born. Emily is mesmerised by the dance of light and shadow, exploring composition and artistic experimentation to capture every client in their best light.

She’s previously been working around the globe, from Indonesia to Sri Lanka, photographing surf and moments beside the ocean. Now, her path calls her back to her home- North Devon. Here, she is committed to producing eloquent visual narratives and creative photographs, taking inspiration from the surrounding natural world and the energies of those she photographs.

FEATURED

Carve Magazine, Issue 225

I am beyond stoked to have my photograph of Belle Betteridge, surfing a secret spot in North Devon, featured within one of my all time favourite magazines. Growing up I would always cut out and stick up the photos from Carve Mag onto my wall, so to have my art in this magazine is something I am truly proud of and deeply grateful for.

I took this photo on a gorgeous Autumn morning, whilst the 2024 Autumn swells were rolling in strong. I came down to this spot on a whim, and once I saw those deep blue colours I quickly scrambled up to a high point- ready to capture the lineup.

Surf Photo Store

A collection of surf photos across the North Devon Coast. Mainly, these will be taken at my local break, Westward Ho!, although I sometimes like to venture to a few secret spots too. Copies of these photographs are available to view, and purchase if you like, ordered by date within my store.

PHILOSOPHY

Photography is a powerful and beautiful art form, and a medium which easily opens the door to exploration of both the loud and the subtle. Photographic composition allows us to experiment and express in such a myriad of ways, that in itself the creative process becomes a sacred journey. By prompting the exploration of our environment to sculpt our narrative: it trains the eye, and calms the mind. It too is something that is ever changing, dynamic in harmony with the natural world; infinite chance captured in a moment.
